Filmmaker duo Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raj Kumar Hirani had a special preview of 3 Idiots for Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar and his begum Saira Banu. Yusufsaab enjoyed the film and there were portions where he was clapping his hands with glee. By the end of the film though he had lost patience with Chatur (Omi Vaidya) and shouted, “Shut up, shut up, shut up!” at the screen character. When the film ended he told Vinod and Raju that he was overwhelmed seeing the film and wanted to have a cup of steaming hot tea and discuss the movie.
So Vinod offered him to his place and all of them had tea discussing about 3 idiots. Yusuf Khan also sung some old Hindi songs. He seemed to have enjoyed Vinod's company. Later Dilip Kumar found a hand-painted poster of Mughal-e-Azam on the walls of Vinod’s office which he autographed with a black marker.
