Aishwarya to do a dance number from Amitabh's Lawaaris

Sajid Nadiawala has been successful in buying the rights of Apni to jaise taise, thodi aise ya waise from the 1981 hit Laawaris. Reportedly,in his next flick Houseful Sajid plans to show a dance number using this song with Akshay Kumar,Arjun Rampal and Ritesh Deshmukh which will also feature Aishwarya Rai.

When contacted Sajid Nadiadwala said, “Yes, we have bought the rights of the song but Aishwarya Rai is not in our version. We can confirm names only when everything is finalised.”
On the other hand, director Sajid Khan said, “I will neither confirm nor deny the news. We will be making an announcement at the right time.”

Fake networking account shocks Kangana

Actress Kangna Ranaut has just discovered that she was being impersonated on a social networking site but what’s causing even greater heartburn is the fact that her Fashion costar Priyanka Chopra has actually been interacting with whoever that person is.
A source reveals, “Kangana is not registered on any social networking site but there are several impersonators out there. Kangana had barely recovered from that disturbing fact when she learnt that Priyanka had been interacting and following one such impersonator.”
An angry and worried Kangana plans to warn Priyanka and her other friends about the fake account.

I will never remove the ring and I am glad that he accepted my love and admiration for him. He even asked me about my family and I told him that they could not make it. Bollywood actress Preity Zinta pulled off a stunt by jumping off the wall of a toilet at the Delhi airport after she got stuck inside for more than 10 minutes.
Spent 10 minutes stuck in the toilet at the airport...Finally had to climb the wall and jump over... People were calling out my name,' Preity posted on her Twitter page Tuesday.
'Thought I was going to die as I am claustrophobic. Pulled a muscle in my arm...,' she added.
Preity admits that her tomboy attitude helped her to tackle the situation. Bravo Preity!

Rakhi threatens to go on hunger strike

Continuing her revolt against the Censor board Rakhi Sawant has declared that she would go on bhook-hartal against them.
Rakhi says,""Fearlessly I've sent a legal notice to the censor board. This is the first time something like this has happened. Others do chamchagiri of the censor board. Not me. I'm Rakhi Sawant. Main ishwar ki beti hoon (I'm god's daughter).

The censor board has done me injustice by deleting the word 'kameeni' from my song. I won't take it lying down. Dharmendra has been saying the word 'kameeney' for years. Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminey' came, were the censors asleep?"
She has openely blamed the censor board for being partial towards Vishal Bharadwaj.
"There're heroines doing love-making scenes with their bare backs showing. Bharadwaj's films invariably have characters mouthing 'maa-bahen galis'. If Rakhi Sawant sings 'Kameeni tera bhoot chad gaya re', the censor board gets stung. The song has been produced by my company Faith Inc and I'm being damaged."

Rambha getting Engaged today

It was widely speculated that actress Rambha would tie the knot with the Canadian-based businessman Indran. True to it, the actress will get engaged to Indran on January 27th, 2010.
The engagement will be held at a 5-star hotel in Chennai.
The actress is planning to wear a specially-made, jewel encrusted sari worth Rs 4.5 lakh, which has been created by fashion designer Erum Ali. Apparently it is an off-white sari that is studded with diamonds and other precious white stones. Indran, the bridegroom is a businessman and the owner of Magic Woods Park in Canada. He has purchased an expensive, antique diamond ring for the occasion and has even gifted Rambha high end BMW car.
The wedding will be held at the holy Tirupathi-Thirumala temple during March end or April first week.

Kangana Ranaut was delightfully surprised when yesterday evening at around 4 pm, Sameer, a Delhi-based fan, sent a huge gift hamper to Kangana’s place.
Inside were three boxes – one with 22 wine bottles, another with 22 cakes of different shapes and sizes and the third loaded with 22 accessories including earrings, bracelets, and bangles.
There was also a sweet note from the fan along with the parcel saying, “22 because you are a 22-year-old and a National Award is no mean achievement at such a young age.”

Salman Khan sued for Veer

Gurgaon-based writer Pavan Choudary, the author of a book called 'A Trilogy Of Wisdom', has alleged that the scriptwriter has copied a 'thought' or a 'concept' from the Hindi translation of this book, published last year.
He has filed a case against producers Vijay Galani and Eros International, director Anil Sharma, and scriptwriter and hero, Salman Khan.
He has claimed that the dialogues have been picked up from his book. When Pavan saw the trailor he tried to contact the film crew but no one responded him. So he filed a suit on Sat Jan 23.

When asked what Pavan Choudary wants from them, the writer said, "I've asked for damages, but that's not my main thing. What I want is that the paternity of this idea be attributed to me."

Salman & Katrina still dating each other

Mallika's brother bursts on Hissss sets

Here goes the story of Mallika & her possessive brother Vikram.

Mallika who is currently shooting for Hissss had to wear a skin-coloured bikini for a shot, which was being canned on a dark, cold night. A naked body double was positioned directly behind her. The game plan of the director, Jennifer Lynch, was to take close-ups of Mallika and full body shots of the double. Mallika was to be filmed on a tree, leaning on a branch.

But all of a sudden, Mallika’s brother Vikram who is one of producers of Hissss barged onto the set and forcefully stopped the shooting. “My sister will not wear such a short, blasphemous bikini,” he shouted, to the astonishment of the entire crew present. The nude body double, meanwhile, rushed into the vanity van to cover her modesty.
One of the producers Govind Menon came to the scene and tried to convince him unsucceessfully. Tempers rose and the shooting was stopped for 2 hrs. Mallika however took Govind's side claiming that she had no problem in doing the scene wearing such a bikini.
However Vikram wouldn't budge a bit. In the end, the bikini was replaced with a longer, skin-coloured bodysuit, which was not as transparent as the earlier outfit.

Big B upset by media sensationalism

Amitabh Bachchan, who plays a founder of a private news channel in Ram Gopal Varma’s next, clears that ‘Rann’ is not a media bashing film. He is quick in highlighting his belief that media is responsible to bring changes in the society and it should present facts without sensationalising them.

Talking candidly, Big B reveals that there have been several moments in his life when he got disappointed and banned the media. According to him, he preferred to stay away when the media misunderstood and misquoted him.

Recently a survey was conducted by a portal on world's most desirable women. According to the top 99 women poll by askmen.com, Padma Lakshmi has grabbed the 15th spot while another Indian supermodel Lakshmi Menon sits at the 45th position leaving behind Slumdog Millionaire star Pinto and former Miss World Aishwarya in 50th and 63rd positions respectively.
"I am delighted that the readers of this portal have chosen to include me on their list. I am extremely flattered," the website quoted PadmaLakshmi as saying.

Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui tops the list. It also features singer Beyonce Knowles at sixth position, Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and "Tranformers" star Megan Fox at seventh and 11th spots respectively.

Shilpa Shetty clarifies on Pakistani players

Amidst all questioning about not auctioning the Pak players in IPL this year Shilpa Shetty comments, "I am very hurt and there have been hate mails also. We have lost some of the greatest players in the world, but why doesn't anyone talk about Australia, England and so many others who were not picked in the auction?" she added.

She further said, "The reason for dropping Pak cricketers is understandable in current scenario."
"We wanted the players to be in the country and at that point of time we were more worried about security. We did not want to take on us for their security," she said.

On the other hand, Lalit modi said that there was no conspiracy theory behind snubbing Pak players.

Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Lalit Modi and representative of other franchises were addressing a press conference here after tie up between IPL and Network 18 entertainment channel Colors for post match coverage.

Veer Movie Review

Veer opens in 1862 Prithvi Singh (Mithun Chakravarthy) heads the Pindari community who were once betrayed by the Raja of Madhavgarh (Jackie Shroff). Prithvi’s son Veer (Salman Khan) continues to rebel against Madhavgarh and the British empire in India. Expectedly it’s love-at-first sight with the Raja’s daughter, Princess Yashodhara (Zarine Khan).

With younger brother Punya (Sohail Khan), Veer goes to London to get English gyaan that will help his clan. Predictably he stumbles upon Yashodhara at the university and they indulge in campus romance. Back in India, Yashodhara takes charge of her kingdom and is pitted against their enemy – the Pindaris lead by Veer. What follows is love and war though the treatment is more formulaic than fair. Like many of those action sequences from the film where the hero makes a late entry to win instant applause, the film picks up pulse in the latter reels. The swayamvar sequence of Yashodhara and the climatic combat between father-son makes way for some strg dramatic moments. But Veer is exhaustingly long at a runtime that doesn’t justify its storytelling. One can surely guess that the film is a addition of GLADIATOR, CONAN THE BARBARIAN, TROY, TITANIC and last but not the least KRANTI.

Director Anil Sharma fails to deliver.The project had everything but Sharma and his writers make a complete mess of the story. Sajid-Wajid's music is melodious and heart-touching, but why repeat one song ['Surili Ankhiyon Wali'] again and again? The background score [Monty] is amazing.Gopal Shah's cinematography is splendid. Tinu Verma's action scenes are dynamic and in fact, the saving grace of VEER. The huge and majestic sets catch the eyes's attention. Salman Khan is good but Zarine Khan is a total disappointment with regards to acting. Mithun is okay, while Jackie does his bit well. Sohail Khan irritates. Puru Raaj Kumar and Aryan Vaid get no scope and are wasted. Other cast and crew are stuffed, they come and go as usual.
But on the whole Veer fails to keep up our expectations and is yet another historic disappointment.

After the 3 idiots's credit chaos its Ram Gopal Verma who has landed in the same situation.
Apparently journalist and writer Sonal Mehta claims that the story of Rann has been her idea.
To his credit Ramu doesn't deny getting a story idea from Sonal Mehta. "She was a part of my production house 'The Factory', 4-5 years ago when I was making James. She came to me with an idea for a film on the media which I didn't like much. Still I said she should try to get a leading man to agree to do the film if she wanted to direct it. I didn't like the names she came up with. And there ended the project."
Ramu considers this issue as an publicity attempt by the writer and is least bothered about it.

The sensational song of the seventies dum maro dum which made Zeenat Aman overnight star will now be heard in its remixed Avatar soon. Director Rohan Sippy plans to use it in his new film titled 'dum maro dum' starring Abhishek Bachchan, Pratik and Telugu star Rana Daggubati.
Rohan says, “Yes, the title of the film is Dum Maro Dum. As far as the song goes, we are still in talks with SaRe GaMa for the necessary permissions. At the moment, we have finalised the songs. We will work on the title song only when we are closer to the release of the film.”
On questioning about the choice of this song Rohan explains,"The song is a classic and everything about it is unique. These days everyone is doing promotional songs. We want to be different and do something unique. Legendary names are involved with the song and we don’t want to tarnish their reputation by doing a bad job. We want to do complete justice to the song and live up to the expectations of the earlier song. Pritam is composing music and Jaideep Sahni has written the lyrics. We will decide how to go about the song, once the film is shot"

It is now confirmed that Rani will be seen in an important role in UTV Spotboy’s "No One Killed Jessica" Vidya Balan will play a role based on Sabrina Lal, Jessica’s sister, while Rani will reportedly essay the role of a journalist who was instrumental in having this sensitive case re-opened.
The film is directed by Rajkumar Gupta who is pretty much excited about casting Rani and Vidya together for the first time. The film seems to quite promising and apt for both the talented actress. Rani is equally excited to be a part of such a project.

Aamir Khan signed by Etisalat

After the runaway success of 3 Idiots, it is said that Bollywood superstar Aamir khan has signed up as the brand ambassador of UAE's Etisalat, India's latest telecom entrant.

Etisalat has been the telecommunications service provider in the UAE since 1976, while Etisalat DB Telecom India, previously called Swan Telecom, is a new telco set up jointly by Etisalat and DB Realty, headquartered at Mumbai. The deal was reportedly signed for a period of 3 yrs setlled at an amount of Rs 30-35 crore.
Aamir already promotes several brands, including Tata Sky, Coca-Cola, Parle and Samsung.
Incidently two other iconic figures are attached to two separate telecom giants in India - Shah Rukh endorses Bharti Airtel, while Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni is the brand ambassador or Aircel.
Aamir's deal has been regarded as the biggest endorsement deal in history of Indian Advertising.

A.R. Rahman who released the soundtrack of his Hollywood film ‘Couples Retreat’ in Chennai on Monday, is excited as he has been nominated in Oscar yet again for the Best Original Song.
His first Hollywood film ‘Couples Retreat’ has a Tamil song ‘Na Na’ that has been selected in the Best Original Song category for the 82nd Academy Awards.


The number is special for Rahman as it marks his six-year-old son Alim’s debut as singer.
‘Na Na’ was written by Rahman along with rapper Blaaze and Vivian Chaix and sung by the trio along with Alim, Clinton and Dominic.

West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard and New Zealand's Shane Bond bagged the highest bids when they hit the upper limit of $750,000.Chennai Super Kings recalled South African hard-hitter Justin Kemp by paying USD 100,000 and also bought emerging Sri Lankan batsman Thisara Perera for USD 50,000. Mohammed Kaif went unsold in the first round but was later taken by Kings XI Punjab for USD 2,50,000. Kings XI also recalled South African pacer Yusuf Abdullah.
Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Eoin Morgan of England for $220,000 while veteran Australian cricketer Damien Martyn was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for his base price of $100,000.As stated earlier South African Yousuf Abdullah and Australian Adam Voges were bought by Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals for their base price of $50,000 each.

Shilpa Shetty justified her decision to opt for Damien Martyn saying that the team was going by captain Shane Warne's direction.
Preity Zinta's Kings XI Punjab spent $300,000 while Mr Vijay Mallya's Bangalore Royal Challengers shelled out $220,000. Shilpa Shetty's Rajasthan Royals spent just $150,000. India Cement-owned Chennai Super Kings ended up being the least spender, putting in just $100,000.

Salman Khan gets Bravery Award

Salman Khan is largely appreciated for promoting patriotism, secularism, and national integration through his films including his latest flick "Veer" Salman Khan proudly supports and endorses many social causes and generously donates for NGOs. Recently he has been helping organizations who work to rehabilitate and educate children orphaned in terrorist attacks across the country.

Looking at his humanitarian endeavors until now Salman has been felicitated byAnti-terroristfront Bravery Award.Organized by AIATF, the award was given to Salman Khan by its chairman Maninderjit Singh Bitta, himself a victim of terrorist attack, along with terrorist victims' children.

"It was a very different real-life experience and after witnessing the efforts made by the brave people, I have decided to join hands in the noble endeavor to help the affected children and other family members of the terrorist victims," said Salman in a statement.
He plans to start a rehabilitation program for the orphaned children of the terrorist victims.

Ishqiya gets 'A' certificate

Ishqiya director Abhishek Choubey shares "Frankly, I expected I'd be asked for some kind of an explanation for the language and content and why they were necessary. I had gone prepared with dossiers on every graphic word and shot. To my surprise I wasn't asked for any explanation. I was given an 'Adults' certificate with no cuts at all. I guess it's a sign of how far censorship has come in our country."
Ishqiya has been passed by the censor board with absolutely no cuts. The movie has been claimed adult due to its language and scenes. It depicts the life of 3 individuals living in a small town in northern India. Ishqiya stars Vidya Balan,Arshad Warsi and Nasserudin Shah. Its sexually charged visuals are much in talk!

Salman Khan participates in Derby Race

Moving a step forward from all other promotional events, Salman Khan had arranged a 'Veer' Derby race.
Everyone present at the event - from chaiwalas to stall owners, from people placing bets to those who just came to engage themselves,and ofcourse a huge flock of media-men everyone was talking about Salman Khan. As soon as Salman entered, the race course was filled by Veer songs and the screens displayed Veer's trailors.

Sporting a Veer jersey and riding his White rose Salman managed to cross the finish line first.
He said,"My lagaam broke just before the race, and I was scared. I wasn't so sure if Wild Rose would be controllable, and wondered what if she went wild and took me riding for 15 rounds! Luckily, none of that happened. Also, I didn't win. I'm not fast at rising. My fellow jockeys helped me win. They purposely rode slowly so that I could be ahead of them."
Veer Actress Zarine Khan was also present for this event. Salman brother Arbaaz Khan and sisters Alvira & Arpita were also seen cheering for him.

Farah Khan is bollywood's most successful choreographer. After earning success as a director and host; Farah is all set to make acting debut soon.
When contacted Farah Khan reveals, "I have known JD since my Mithibai College days, when he used to do theatre with my brother Sajid. When he called me I immediately agreed. The brief was very clear, that I have to be myself, the stern and serious director that I am. However it was good fun shooting for the film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only condition was that I be treated to some great Gujju food on the sets, and they fulfilled my demand."

Sarah is Ranbir's American Girlfriend

Ranbir Kapoor’s American girlfriend in Raajneeti, the one he abandons to pursue his family’s political dynastic ambitions in India is played by Sarah Thompson Kane. Sarah is best known for her role in Cruel Intentions 2 and for playing South African cricketer Hansie Cronje’s wife in the 2008 biopic Hansie.
She was chosen to play Ranbir’s American girl in Raajneeti after a great deal of deliberation. “We auditioned nearly 30 girls before we selected Sarah. She was right for the part. It’s a substantial role and we needed an actress who could act and would look compatible with Ranbir,” says director Prakash Jha.

Priyanka Chopra's latest hype is her new role in "Seven Husbands" This will be for the second time that Priyanka will play multiple characters in a single film. She had essayed 12 roles in Ashutosh Gowariker's "What's Your Rashee?", but the film failed to pull in audiences.

"Mohanlal will be playing one of Priyanka's husbands in 'Seven Husbands'. The names of other actors are being kept under wraps as of now," said a source close to the actress.

Salma Agha has her roots in Kapoor Family

Shocking piece of truth has been revealed by Pakistani singer-actress Salma Agha. Salma admits,
"I am the fourth generation Indian. My grandfather is the late Raj Kapoor’s mama (maternal uncle). His name was Jugal Hansraj Mehra, who converted to Islam after marrying my grandmother. Both my parents were born in Amritsar”.
This is shocking for all people who believed her to be a Pakistani. “I have just worked in their films. I have got nothing to do with Pakistan. Even my daughters have a strong resemblance to the Kapoor clan, especially Karisma and Kareena Kapoor,” smiles Salma.

Salman Khan and Malaika to do an item-number together

Salman Khan and his ravishing sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan have never shared screen space.
Malaika who has delivered hits like Chaiyyan-Chaiyyan in Dil Se and Mahi Ve in Kaante is doing an item number with her hunky brother-in-law in the movie Debangg. The song, composed by Lalit Pandit, is for the Abhinav Kashyap-directed.It has the raunchy title Munni Badnaam Hui Darling Tere Liye. And Farah Khan will choreograph it.

The song will have unique set which will resemble a Bihari bar. Its surely going to be one raunchy video. Debangg is produced by Arbaaz Khan and has a prime role in this flick.

Abhishek Bachchan honoured by Guinness world book of records

Abhishek Bachchan entered the Guinness world book of records Feb 2009. He registers himself as a filmstar who maximum number of cities visited in 12 hours. Will Smith was the first to make it in the Guinness World Record for his movie Hitch for making the maximum number of public appearances by a film star at different cities in 12 hours promoting their film. Jargen Vogel and Daniel Bruhl (Germany) broke Will Smith's record and now Abhishek Bachchan takes the mantle.

Abhishek had started his record-breaking tour to promote his latest release Delhi 6, began on 22nd February, Sunday in the afternoon at 12.05 pm in Ghaziabad in the presence of world media. Abhishek started his unique tour traveling to as many events in as many cities as possible within 12 hours. Other cities covered included Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Mumbai. He totally visited 7 cities in 12 hours.
Abhishek Bachchan was presented with the Guinness Record by Yash Chopra at the Chevrolet Apsara Awards presentation ceremony held in Mumbai recently.
Abhishek Bachchan comments, "I'm quite excited by the success, more so because it has been done for a film that's so close to my heart. Deepika Padukone in Break ke baad

Kunal Kohli's next venture starts the dimpled beauty Deepika along with Imran Khan.
Now thats going to be fun watching the two romancing for the first time together. The film titled 'Break ke baad' is going to be made under Kohli's own banner Kunal Kohli productions in association with Reliance Bigpictures.

Kunal confirmed the news by saying"Yes the next film we are making at Kunal Kohli Productions is Break Ke Baad. It's going to be directed by Danish Aslam who has been an assistant director on films like Fanaa, Salaam Namaste, and Ta Ra Rum Pum. The film stars Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and is about a couple who have gone through a break-up"

Reportedly the film title was already registered by a man living in Bangalore and the team had to persuade him to sell it. The film shooting will start this March.

Hrithik Roshan's disturbed personal life and his partying habits are much a talk of tinsel town plus his friends and family. To add to this he is now a days being seen practicing really hard for his dialogues, expressions and speech.
Reportedly last night Hrithik Roshan has been seen rehearsing loudly in the balcony of his home at 2 am. Apparently, he had just reached home and within five minutes, he was slaving over the dialogue. They sounded rather dramatic, as a Bhansali film is meant to be. Hrithik boomed, “Mujhe mukti de de...kuch varsh pehle...’One could sense his commitment and dedication from the way he was practicing it.A source reveals that The Roshan kid always rehearses his parts in advance.Memorizes his dialogues often this way.

To express his support and concern for a cause Aamir Khan has agreed to perform on stage almost after 10 years.On January 15 Aamir Khan who is currently riding a wave of success with 3 Idiots, will record his part for a concert that is being put up by the Cine & Television Artistes Association.
Johny Lever, the President of the Cine Artistes Association says, “Our association has completed 50 years. I have personally requested Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and several other Bollywood biggies to perform for us. We need funds to rehabilitate and provide resources to junior artistes who are finding it hard to make ends meet.”
Johny says, “Each and every artiste that we approached has agreed.’’
Apparently Aamir has also sent out personal text messages to all the big names in the business asking them to participate. “SRK has agreed, so has Hrithik. The list is long but I must say that whoever we approached, has agreed to contribute personally. They have realised that the concert, which will later be televised on a satellite channel, is being done for a worthy cause,” added Johny.
